Frequently Asked Questions
-
Financial planning is about you. It’s the process of taking a comprehensive look at your financial situation and building a unique financial plan to reach your goals. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to financial planning. Large expenses like education, housing, or medical care should factor into your investment strategy timeline. An experienced financial planner can help you reach your financial goals no matter how simple or complicated your circumstances are.
-
Yes. In fact, our advisors have decades of experience and are fiduciaries. This technical term means our advisors must legally give you the best advice they can; the same advice they themselves would take in your situation. Non-fiduciary financial professionals aren’t held to the same level of accountability.

It’s hard to know who to trust when it comes to personal finance. You may have concerns about qualifications, potential conflicts of interest, or maybe you’ve received poor advice in the past. At Altura we understand that we need to earn your trust. We think the best way to do that is through education and professional ethics. We work hard to teach financial literacy not just to our clients, but to our whole community. We believe that providing ethical financial planning is what sets us apart from our competitors.
-
There are no financial minimums for us to meet with you. Other firms may have income requirements, but we believe that financial services can benefit everyone, not just the wealthy. We serve clients of all ages and financial situations.
-
We offer a free one-on-one financial review with a financial planner who will review your financial situation, regardless of income. In short, that means we don’t charge for our time to do a consultation. Altura will always be upfront about the cost of any service we provide.
-
Altura derives its revenue from a variety of sources. This includes Assets Under Management from Securities, Sales of Insurance products, Real Estate Services, Loan Origination Services, Tax Services, Financial Plans, Notary Services, and Financial Consultation.

No. You’re never obligated at any time.
-
No, you’re never too young to meet with a financial planner. Many people only meet with a financial planner when things go wrong, but we think sooner is better than later. The earlier you start with a financial planner, the better off your life will become.
-
Our planners are independent. This means they are not beholden to any bank, financial institution, or insurance company. This gives them the versatility to recommend whatever financial products are right for your situation. Since they are fiduciaries, they have to recommend what is in your best interest as opposed to recommendations from a financial institution.

Initial meetings and follow up meetings are an hour long, whether they are in person or over Zoom.

Everyone benefits from meeting with one of our planners. A second opinion is always recommended. There are a variety of ways we help people that don’t involve us managing their finances. Even if you choose not to utilize our services, you will have the peace of mind of knowing that an ethical financial planner has reviewed your financial future.
